Prayer Points for NTE2010

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. - Philippians 4:6

Give thanks to God for the 1000-plus students who have registered to attend NTE09. Pray that they would be the catalysts in encouraging their friends to come. Pray that the students who come will be spurred on to transform Australia and the world by living radical, self-sacrificial lives for the glory of Christ.

Pray for those who are attending NTE from overseas as delegates and guests. Pray that we would make them feel welcome and that we would be sensitive to cultural differences in our strand groups and the other elements of the programme.

Pray for the international students who will be attending NTE as part of the FOCUS programme. Pray that the FOCUS strand group leaders will be able to explain theological concepts clearly to those whose first language is not English.

Pray for those leading strands from the AFES staff team and Bible colleges around Australia. Pray that they would have adequate time to prepare and that they would be able to connect with and energise their groups on conference.

Pray for our speakers - John Dickson, Andrew Reid, Andrew Cameron, Greg Clarke, Matthew Meek, and Mike Raiter. Pray that they would be humble as they teach us and that we would be humble as we sit under the word of God.

Pray for those AFES supporters attending the guest programme (Sat-Sun of NTE). Pray that they will find the conference refreshing and that they will go home more enthused about the work of AFES.

Pray for the staff in the AFES Office as they think through the logistical requirements of being at a new venue. Pray that all the planning tasks would be completed and that nothing would be forgotten or overlooked.

Pray for the city of Canberra and our presence there during NTE. Pray that those we meet - the caterers, the staff of EPIC and the different accommodation sites, and local business owners - will be impressed by how we treat each other and them. Pray that everything we do during NTE would show that we live for the King and not for ourselves.

Pray for the post-conference missions as students partner in mission with churches around Australia. Pray that even now God would be preparing the hearts of people surrounding these churches to hear the gospel and respond to it in repentance and faith.
