Guest Programme

In 2008, AFES has the privilege of hosting the South Pacific Regional Training Event (SPRTE). It is our pleasure to invite you to join us for the SPRTE Guest Programme at ANU Canberra, which runs for the first weekend of the five-day conference (dinner Friday 28 November - lunch Sunday 30 November).

The Conference

This year, the AFES National Training Event goes international. SPRTE will bring together Christian university students from Fiji, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Vanuatu and Australia.

The theme for the conference is Cross + Culture and our speakers will be Daniel Bourdanné (IFES General Secretary), Lindsay Brown (former IFES General Secretary), Nigel Pollock (TSCF New Zealand National Director), Richard Chin (AFES National Director) and Phillip Jensen (Dean of Sydney).

It will be an exciting conference and we’d love for you to be able to join us at least for the first weekend.

The Guest Programme

The aim of the Guest Programme at SPRTE is to have the friends and supporters of AFES see and experience firsthand the fruit of their prayerful partnership, namely the work of Christ in the lives of students in universities throughout Australia and the world. It is our prayer that by joining this programme, you will not only gain a greater taste of the ministry of AFES, but will be excited and enthused to continue supporting its work in promoting the mission of Christ in Australian universities and beyond.

On the first weekend of SPRTE, you will have the opportunity to attend the main conference talks with other conference delegates as well as special guest sessions designed to explain the vision and practice of AFES. We are hoping too that you will have the opportunity to interact with staff and students and hear details of activities happening around our university groups.

Costs and Registration

The cost of the guest programme is $180. This includes all meals and accommodation from dinner on Friday 28 November through to lunch on Sunday 30 November. If you would like to stay for the whole of SPRTE, please email us for details of additional costs.
